Trifold brochures are a dime a dozen these days and if you have been printing brochures for a long time you have probably worn out the different combinations of your content to make them look new and interesting. At times like this when most of your ideas are spent, you may want to overhaul your trifold brochures and reinvent them into something totally new. Doing this is a simple enough task if you are up to it. To help you out, here are our five steps in reinventing your color brochures.

1. Change your words.
One road to brochure reinventions is just to change your words. For example if you have been always printing the same “relax here” phrase for your travel brochure, you may want to change it to something different like “live differently”. Any kind of change of message can significantly change the tone of your brochure reinventing it to something more. In our example, those simple phrase changes converts the brochure message from being just a mundane travel message to an inspirational and lifestyle message. This alone reinvents your brochure into something quite unique and effective. So do not misjudge a simple change in words can do for your brochures.

2. Print bigger and better.
Next, for a physical reinvention of your trifold brochure, you can try to print them in bigger dimensions. While not the most popular choice in reinvention, printing large color brochures can be a nice way to catch people’s eyes. Of course big things are easier to see, and everybody becomes curious when they do see something large and well free to see. So while your message can be the same, with larger brochures, you will probably get more people to read and hence you will get your message across. A small reinvention idea, but with big results.

3. Enhance and improve your pictures.
Of course your pictures may also be something that you can reinvent. Instead of your usual corporate pictures or product pictures why not try to enhance them? You can try and add in some artful elements like using design filters to make your images more interesting. If you want, you can even hire an abstract artist to make your designs look cool and poetic. The basic aim is really to just paint the thousand words you want in your pictures and imbibe in them emotions and not just cold information. People must feel what those pictures are all about. Once your brochures can contribute those feelings, you should feel your brochures transcend itself from a mere vehicle for information to something that can affect people's lives.

4. Try out new colors.
Besides the picture of course, the overall color theme of your brochure can also be “reinvented”. If you have been using the same old company theme for so long, you might want to take a break and use something very different this time. Just a change in color in your brochures can really affect how it is perceived by people. It can even be seen as a whole new brochure altogether. So it can be a good way for people to rediscover your brochures and find them interesting once again.

5. Get that glitter.

Lastly, you may want to use several interesting effects in your brochure to give them that new and modern look. Just by using special shiny inks or glossy paper stocks, you can remake your brochures into something that looks elegant and beautiful. This is a good way to make your brochure special, and even collectible if designed well enough. If done correctly it has the possibility to be a very memorable brochure.

So those are our five tips to trifold brochure reinvention. With just some easy design changes, you can really make your brochures into something really different and even beautiful. All it takes is the right idea.
