When promoting our business we may use several different form of advertising. Some prefer one over the other, whether it be classifieds or blogging. One of the choices that is becoming more popular is article writing. When you write an article there is an about the author section below it that includes your name, a blurb about you and a link to your business website or whichever you choose. This form of advertising is great for long term name recognition. Your articles will be on the internet for years to come, including that link to your business.

One of the problems with article writing is that some people think they cannot write. They don’t have the confidence in what they know and how to express their knowledge. Especially those that are new to this sort of advertising. There is also the problem of being new to their field of business. New internet marketers may not think they have enough knowledge in that business to write about it. Even veteran internet marketers or professionals in their field may suffer from writers block from time to time.

So what if you are new to your business? What could you possibly write about? A good way to come up with ideas on what to write about is to go to the article directories and see what everyone else is writing about. If there is a specific area in your business that interests you more, do some research on that subject and put your finding within an article. There is so much information on the internet you will have no trouble finding what you need to know about what interests you in your business.

Sometime we just have to step away. Take a break from work and do something totally different. Take a long walk, play with your kids, do a crossword puzzle, or for the ladies, go shopping. Sometimes just doing something unrelated to our business will bring an idea into our head that can be turned into an article. Talk to other people who are involved in the same business as you. Some may be willing to give you some pointers about things to write about or how to come up with new ideas.

Whatever you do, keep writing. Your back links will grow when you submit them to article directories. Publishers will then take that article and put it on their site or blog, which creates yet another link to your business website. Articles become viral and spread throughout the internet. All these back links come from your resource box or about the author section so do not forget to include the link to your business website.

Remember if you come up blank for ideas for your articles just take a step back and gather your thoughts. Sometimes constantly thinking about it will wipe out your ideas completely. Stay focused, do research and take a break to clear your thoughts when needed.
