Before designing and printing your business card, you may want to know the reasons that clients retain them. Just because someone you have met seemed eager to receive your card does not necessarily mean that they will contact you. Often, prospects keep business cards without having any intention of contacting you in the near future. Some people just like to have them around because they may one day need your services. Others may already have your card but need a new one for updated information or you provide a product or service that they need. Sometimes your new acquaintance may be passing your card to their friend who has been looking for the products you provide. Often, people keep business cards because they contain useful or even simply interesting information.

Avoid assuming that everyone who willfully receives your business card printing i s a future customer. Instead, take action and design your card for reaching even those who may only receive your card from a friend, rather than from you personally. Make your card stand out from any other competitors' by making your company brand clear. Include a tag that tells why you are better than the rest. Use a unique feature such as plastic instead of paper or rounded edges instead of square. Utilize the entire space on your card by including more information on the back. You may want to list the benefits of your services or products or provide quotations from happy customers. Lead prospects to the next move with the offer of a free gift, free estimate, or a discount if they go to a website, call a number, or any other specific action. A list of emergency numbers or even a three-month calendar may encourage potential clients to keep your card around, which puts your logo in their sight and promotes your company to others who may see it.

Creating custom business cards that appeal to a number of potential customers is important for expanding your client base. So keep in mind the various reasons that people keep business cards so that you can design cards that will also bring you results.
